Rangers winger Jordan Jones will leave Ibrox and join Sunderland in the final days of the January transfer window, according to The Daily Record.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have reportedly agreed a deal with Sunderland in League One in England to send the 26-year-old winger to the Stadium of Light on loan for the rest of the season.
The move is now subject to the Northern Ireland international winger passing a medical at Sunderland, according to the report.
Disappointing Rangers spell
Jones has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2019 and has failed to make a massive impact.
The Northern Ireland international had a bad injury last season and has failed to establish himself in the Gers’ starting lineup since his recovery.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the 26-year-old winger has scored one goal in three Scottish Premiership matches so far this season, and played just seven times in the league in 2019-20.
It would make sense for former Kilmarnock winger Jones to leave Rangers on loan and try to play regular first-team football in the coming months.
