Report: Rangers will sell Alfredo Morelos for Moussa Dembele fee

Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will reportedly sell Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos for more money than Celtic got for Moussa Dembele.

According to The Sunday Post, Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will sell Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos should the Gers receive an offer more than what Celtic got for selling Moussa Dembele to Lyon.

Celtic sold French striker Dembele to Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Sunday Post to be worth £19.8 million.

It has been reported that Rangers manager Gerrard will cash in on the 23-year-old Colombia international striker Morelos should the Gers receive an offer better than the one Celtic got for Dembele.

Keeping Alfredo Morelos

Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is key figure in manager Gerrard’s Rangers side.

The 23-year-old striker scored as many as 18 goals in 30 Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers last season, according to WhoScored.

Losing Morelos will be a blow for Rangers, but the Gers already have a proven goalscorer in Bournemouth-owned striker Jermain Defoe, who is more than capable of leading the line for the Gers next season.
