The Rangers striker is said to be of interest to his former club Sunderland, and may be open to leaving Pedro Caixinha’s Ibrox outfit this summer.
Sunderland are said to be weighing up a move for Waghorn, who they see as “an inexpensive option” with his contract due to expire next summer.

It is claimed the 27-year-old is “thought to be keen” on a return to the Stadium of Light, where he was on the books for more than a decade until his 2010 move to Leicester City.
And Rangers will reportedly listen to offers for the South Shields native, despite his record of 44 goals in 78 games for the Ibrox outfit.
Waghorn was brought to Glasgow two summers ago by ex-Rangers boss Mark Warburton, and remained a regular under the Englishman’s successor Pedro Caixinha last season.
But the summer additions of Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos, for more than £1 million apiece, appear to have pushed the former England Under-21 international down the Gers’ pecking order.

The Daily Mail reports that Sunderland are also pursuing a loan move for Aston Villa’s ex-Rangers striker Ross McCormack, whose wages are said to be proving a stumbling block.
And it is claimed the Mackems could pursue a deal for Waghorn “in any case”.
