Jake Hastie will reportedly play no role in Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers’ latest Europa League qualifier.

If rumours are believed, it’s been a dreadful start to life at Rangers for Jake Hastie.

According to The Record, the former Motherwell winger has been axed from Steven Gerrard’s Europa League squad for the upcoming tie with Progres Niederkorn.

This reported snub comes on the back of an unflattering display from Hastie in Rangers’ previous round of qualifiers against St Joseph’s.

And The Record has claimed that the 20-year-old has NOT been included in Gerrard’s latest squad.

That’s bad news, but the even worse news for Hastie is that he had to have a fast-and-furious start to life at Ibrox.

Given the wide options that Gerrard has at his disposal, the youngster couldn’t afford a slow start and yet it seems like that is exactly what has happened.

Of course, nobody is saying that he won’t be a roaring success in Glasgow in the long term, but he definitely has a mountain to climb if he wants to have a good first season with the Gers.
