According to Sports World Ghana, Rangers are interested in signing defender Jed Abbey following his departure from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Abbey, 18, starred in the Under-18 Premier League this past season, registering four goals and five assists for Wolves.
With an additional goal in two FA Youth Cup games, Abbey has shown his quality going forward despite predominantly being a right back.
The teenager can also play in midfield, but was released by Wolves this summer despite his impressive record.
Rangers had been eyeing up ex-Leicester City youngster Dennis Gyamfi, but he is currently training with Belgian side Cercle Brugge ahead of a potential deal.
Oddly, the pair share some similarities; they can both play for Ghana and the Netherlands and both are free agents after leaving Premier League clubs.

Rangers also landed Calvin Bassey from Leicester, with the Gers seemingly looking at Premier League youngsters to bolster their full back options.
Abbey fits that bill, and could provide cover behind James Tavernier whilst giving Rangers another talent for the future without breaking the bank.
