Steven Gerrard’s Rangers want to bring St. Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark to Ibrox, according to The Daily Record.

What’s the story?

It has been reported that Rangers are interested in securing the services of Clark.

The goalkeeper is out of contract at St. Johnstone at the end of the season.

No new deal is in place at the moment.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is out of contract at the Gers at the end of the season.

If McGregor, who is 39, decides to retire in the summer of 2022, then Rangers could make a move for Clark.

Could Zander Clark to Rangers happen?

Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in the world and won the Scottish Premiership title last season.

There is a very good chance that the Gers will win the league title again this season.

The 29-year-old has made over 150 league appearances for St. Johnstone and is very experienced.

Moreover, Clark is a boyhood Rangers fan.

Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 30 points from 13 matches.

Gerrard’s side are four points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
