According to the Daily Record, Rangers are hoping to raid Leicester City once again with a move for right back Dennis Gyamfi.

The Gers signed out-of-contract defender Calvin Bassey over the weekend, paying a development fee of just £230,000 to bring him to Ibrox.

Rangers may not be done there. It’s now claimed that they want to repeat the trick with an almost identical move for teammate Gyamfi.

The Ghanaian is highly regarded, but his contract expires this summer. Rangers aren’t alone in the race, with Arsenal, Feyenoord and Manchester United battling for his signature.

Steven Gerrard has allegedly wanted the 18-year-old for 18 months now, and failed with a bid to bring the teenage to Glasgow last summer.

Rangers unsurprisingly want to renew their interest, and believe Bassey – Gyamfi’s friend from Leicester and from their days together back in London – could be the trump card in the race.

Whilst Bassey is a left back, Gyamfi plays on the right. He may well be brought in as new competition for James Tavernier, with Matt Polster yet to really push him for first-team football.

Rangers can land Gyamfi for a low compensation fee, much like Bassey, and may leave Leicester gutted as the Gers look to raid the Foxes once again.
