Glasgow Rangers are keen for their next manager to keep Jonatan Johansson and Graeme Murty at Ibrox.

Rangers parted company with the Portuguese last month, but there appears to have been little progress regarding finding his permanent replacement and it seems a safe bet to suggest that Murty will oversee a fourth game as caretaker boss when the Gers face Dundee on Friday night.

And it appears that one reason for the lack of progress may be down to the backroom team the Scottish Premiership side want to work with the new manager.
Murty has done well during his two stints as caretaker, and the number of academy prospects pushing for the first-team surely says a lot about the work he has done during his time as under-20s coach.

Meanwhile, Johansson’s most notable accomplishment was surely recommending Alfredo Morelos to the club shortly after his arrival, though he may well also be doing some great work behind the scenes.
However, while Murty and Johansson may be doing some good work and it may be a good move to keep them on when the new manager comes in, the Gers would surely be making a mistake if they let their number one managerial target pass them by because the club are determined to keep Murty and Johansson around.
