Glasgow Rangers are reportedly keen to bring Eamonn Brophy to Ibrox, but face competition for his signature.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to bring Eamonn Brophy to Ibrox as Alfredo Morelos’ replacement this summer, but the Gers face competition for his signature from Leeds United and Derby County.
Brophy is celebrating his first call-up to the Scotland squad this week after former boss Steve Clarke rewarded him following a campaign in which he scored 11 times in the Scottish Premiership.
TEAMtalk reports that the Light Blues are set to sell Morelos this summer and want the 23-year-old – who spent around eight years on Celtic’s books as a youngster – to be the man that replaces the Colombian heading into next season.
However, Gerrard will face some stern competition. TEAMtalk adds that both Leeds and Derby are also interested in Brophy as they both prepare for another year in the Championship following their play-off heartbreak.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side appear to need further depth up front. Kemar Roofe was exceptional for much of the season, but he and Patrick Bamford spent significant spells on the sidelines and endured periods of poor form.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard had the likes of Jack Marriott, Mason Bennett and former Gers man Martyn Waghorn to choose from heading into the play-off final.

Brophy’s record is not one that immediately stands out as being one that will convince Leeds or Derby supporters that he is what they need to get across the line in the promotion race, or one that will leave Rangers fans backing a sale of Morelos.
But it arguably says something about his ability that Gerrard is reportedly backing him to replace such a key player in his side, while two teams that came agonisingly close to securing Premier League football for next season also appear to be admirers.
