According to Foot Mercato, Rangers are interested in signing Dijon defender Senou Coulibaly, while Huddersfield are also keen.

The French news outlet state that Rangers are among the clubs most interested in the centre-back, who has shone in Ligue 1 this season.

Coulibaly has made 16 appearances for Dijon, scoring two goals.

Foot Mercato describe him as one of the few shining lights in an otherwise disastrous campaign for Dijon, in which they sit bottom of Ligue 1.

Foot Mercato also describe the Rangers target as a ‘brilliant’ player who is ‘solid’ in his duels – he’s also described as ‘beautiful’ in the article.

Interestingly, Foot Mercato also state that Coulibaly was clocked running at 36 km/h last season, which works out at 22.4 mph.

On that note, it’s safe to say he’s absolutely rapid.

No price is mentioned in Foot Mercato‘s report.

However, in our view, we feel like he could be obtainable if Dijon suffer relegation to Ligue 2, which seems certain to happen.

Rangers will be able to offer Champions League football.

Appearing in Europe’s most prestigious competition would be incredible for Coulibaly, seeing as he was playing for FC Mantois 78 – who currently play in France’s fifth division – as recently as 2018.

Keep an eye on this transfer saga, as it could have potential to materialise.
