Rangers are seeking a big fee of more than £10million for right back Nathan Patterson – and Everton are ready to meet the demands in January.
That’s according to The Scottish Sun. They claim that Rangers are demanding eight figures for their prized youngster.
Rafael Benitez wants Everton to go for Patterson again in January, and Everton are ready to cough up the money Rangers want.
Patterson in a tough spot at Rangers
Patterson is undoubtedly the top young talent at Rangers. He has been hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Steven Gerrard, but is finding life at Ibrox tricky.
James Tavernier is Rangers’ starting right back. That keeps Patterson out of the side, and some have feared that his progress will stall at Rangers.
The 19-year-old is also earning caps for Scotland, and a Premier League offer would surely be hard to turn down.

Everton’s interest in Patterson
Everton want a young right back to come in and eventually take Seamus Coleman’s long-time role in the team.
Everton made two bids for Patterson in August. Rangers rejected both bids, totalling £5million and £8million.
It’s therefore pretty clear that Rangers want £10million-plus for their teenage star.
Everton being willing to pay that price is the big story though, as that would be a considerable outlay in January.
The coming months will surely form Patterson’s opinion on a move, but it looks like Everton are already willing to do a deal.
