Rangers are reportedly set to move on from Southampton’s Ross Wilson.

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers will turn their attention to Tottenham Hotspur’s Paul Mitchell in their search for a Director of Football, with Ross Wilson now likely to stay with Southampton.
The Gers are looking for a new manager following Mark Warburton’s departure last month, but with recruitment chief Frank McParland also departed, the club are looking to modify their structure.
Rangers are now hoping to bring a Director of Football to Ibrox, and have been hoping to land Southampton’s Director of Scouting Ross Wilson for the job – but that move now looks to be unlikely.
The Scottish Sun report that Wilson, formerly of Falkirk, has hesitated over a move back to his native Scotland, and staying with Southampton now looks to be more likely, leading Rangers to consider other options.
It’s claimed that Rangers are now turning their attention to Paul Mitchell, with the Tottenham man becoming the top target for the Ibrox post.
Mitchell worked at Southampton before following Mauricio Pochettino to White Hart Lane in 2014, and has been aiding Tottenham in the transfer market since his arrival.

However, Mitchell has been attempting to force a move away from the Premier League side since last summer, when he handed in his resignation, before being forced to serve a notice period – which was scheduled to run until the end of this year.
Now though, the Daily Record claim that Mitchell has in fact left Tottenham already, potentially paving the way for a move to Rangers – but the Gers will allegedly also continue to interview other candidates as Wilson looks set to drop out of the running.
