Rangers are reportedly set to tie up a deal for Graham Dorrans this week.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are set to finally tie up a deal for Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans inside the next 48 hours.
The Gers are back in Europa League action this evening as they take on Progres Niederkorn in Luxembourg, having won the first leg 1-0 at Ibrox last week thanks to Kenny Miller’s goal.
Graham Dorrans of Norwich City celebrates after scoring
Rangers will be expected to go through to the next round, and the game will again give manager Pedro Caixinha a chance to see his new-look Rangers side in action.
Of his eight summer signings, only Bruno Alves will miss out, meaning we could see Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Daniel Candeias, Dalcio, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos in action.
The work doesn’t stop there for Caixinha though, as the protracted move for Graham Dorrans finally appears to be nearing a conclusion, with The Scottish Sun claiming that a deal will be completed in the next 48 hours.
Dorrans, 30, featured in just 23 of Norwich’s 46 Championship games last season, and whilst he scored six goals, he has seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements under new manager Daniel Farke and technical director Stuart Webber.
Rangers and Norwich have now agreed a fee for the midfielder’s transfer, and Dorrans – who grew up supporting Rangers – is now finally set to seal his dream move to Ibrox this week.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha
Manager Caixinha was asked about the situation by the Daily Mail, but the Portuguese boss wasn’t giving anything away, dodging the question by saying he didn’t know if the deal was done or not, so wouldn’t talk about it.
The move should give great balance to the Rangers midfield alongside Jack and Pena, whilst Caixinha would also have great depth at his disposal in Jordan Rossiter, Jason Holt and Niko Kranjcar.
