Hibernian striker Florian Kamberi would prefer to join Rangers despite interest from England, Switzerland and Poland but, according to the National, he does not want another loan spell at Ibrox.
Six months ago, the all-action centre-forward was on his way to Glasgow, his ‘dream’ move becoming a reality.
But with the global health crisis ensuring that Kamberi’s spell at Rangers was brought to a rather unsatisfying end after a matter of weeks, the Swiss striker was forced to return to Easter Road ahead of schedule.
However, despite scoring just one league goal for the Gers, it seems that Steven Gerrard and co would happily welcome him back for a second spell.
What’s more, Kamberi has his heart set on returning to familiar surroundings despite having offers on the table from at least three different countries – including the one sitting south of the border.
Edinburgh Live claimed on Wednesday that the 6ft 2ins targetman had been the subject of an offer from struggling Championship outfit Hull City.
A move to Humberside does not really appeal, it seems, though there is a catch here for Rangers too.
Kamberi wants a permanent contract, not a short-term one. And Rangers must decide whether or not they are willing to pay a transfer fee for a man who didn’t exactly set the world alight during his previous spell in Glasgow.
With just 12 months left on his contract at Hibs, a permanent departure would suit them down to the ground too.
