TuttoMercatoWeb report that Belgian champions Club Brugge have tabled a £5million bid to sign Rangers target Andreas Skov Olsen. It comes a few days after Rangers are said to have tabled the same amount, for the Dane.
Skov Olsen, 22, was first linked with Rangers during Steven Gerrard’s reign as manager – while he was at Nordsjaelland, where he scored 27 goals in 51. But he joined Bologna, and the Denmark international’s form has dipped.
Just three goals have come in his 71 outings for Bologna – with none in his 19 games this season. He has a contract at Bologna until 2024, but interest in Skov Olsen is growing. Earlier this window, Rangers made a £5million bid.
That is, according to Il Resto Del Carlino – but now, Wilson’s offer has been matched by Belgian giants Brugge. However, TMW say the £5million bid is below Bologna’s value. However, Brugge remain in talks to sign Skov Olsen.
Brugge make Skov Olsen bid: Rangers desperately need him
Ianis Hagi has been ruled out for the entire season with a knee injury, after going under the knife. Even with the Romania ace fit, Rangers needed an addition or two in the final third – and now, they are seriously lacking.
Gio van Bronckhorst’s arrival as manager has seen Rangers switch to a 4-2-3-1 system – and the inclusion of a no.10 means there is one less number out wide. Whether that be Joe Aribo, Hagi or even Scott Arfield.
Rangers need a winger and Skov Olsen continues to be linked with the Ibrox club. But now, they are in danger of losing out in the race to get the Dane with Brugge making moves. Indeed, Brugge will have more to spend.
