Rangers are pushing to bring two Mexican internationals to Ibrox.
Rangers target Eduardo Herrera
According to ESPN, Chivas Guadalajara midfielder Carlos Pena is set for a medical with Rangers – and their talks for UNAM striker Eduardo Herrera are also progressing.
The Gers are in the market for a host of new signings this summer, and tied up their first arrival of the window by signing Portuguese defender Bruno Alves this afternoon.

Alves could quickly be followed by more new arrivals, as whilst Aberdeen’s Ryan Jack will be arriving imminently, another midfielder is also edging towards a move to Ibrox.
ESPN in Mexico report that Chivas Guadalajara midfielder Carlos Pena will undergo a medical with Rangers in the near future after the two clubs agreed a deal.
UNAM striker Eduardo Herrera
Pena, 26, is a Mexican international with seven goals in 19 caps for his country, and will be joining Rangers after a loan spell with Club Leon, with a work permit allegedly not being a problem.
Caixinha, a former Santos Laguna manager, isn’t done shopping in Mexico just yet though, and is also targeting a striker given question marks over the futures of Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn.

The report adds that talks with UNAM over a deal for striker Eduardo Herrera are ‘advancing’, and whilst no deal has been struck for Rangers to sign him just yet, Caixinha may well be nearing another addition.
Herrera has five goals in nine caps for Mexico, and the 28-year-old also has a wealth of experience in Mexico with UNAM, Santos Laguna – where he worked with Caixinha – and Veracruz, and would bring strength and aerial ability to the Rangers attack.
