According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers youngster Kyle McClelland is now wanted by Southampton in a shock move.
It’s claimed that Southampton have been impressed with McClelland and now intend to track him for the rest of the season ahead of potentially making their move.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Scottish League One side Falkirk, and his performance for the club are now attracting major interest.
McClelland will return to Rangers this summer, but just how long he actually stays at Ibrox remains to be seen with Southampton now keen.
The Saints have been regular shoppers at Celtic, but a move to sign McClelland would see them negotiate with Ross Wilson – the man who left Southampton for Rangers.
McClelland can play for Scotland, but is currently attached to the Northern Ireland, picking up five Under-19 caps so far, with senior recognition expected one day.

Steven Gerrard is yet to pick McClelland at Rangers, and may need to convince him that there is a pathway to first-team football in order to convince him to stay.
Yet with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun, Jack Simpson and Nikola Katic all at Rangers, it may be difficult for McClelland to get his chance – and that’s ideal for Southampton.
