The Sun claim Rangers have increased their offer to sign PAOK striker Antonio Colak after seeing an initial £1.75million bid rejected. The Croatia international is keen on moving to Ibrox, after a tricky 2021-22 campaign.

The 28-year-old played for both Malmo in Sweden and PAOK in Greece – going on loan to Malmo for their 2021 season in March and returning in December. He scored a very impressive 19 goals in 40 appearances.

He returned to PAOK but in his 23 appearances from December, Colak only started nine. The striker has two years left on his deal but Rangers are very interested – and have now increased their initial offer for the German-born ace.

Rangers saw an initial £1.75million move rejected. PAOK want £2.5million – and Rangers have now upped their bid to £2million, plus add-ons. It is unclear how realistic the add-ons are, and how much they are worth.

Rangers have increased Colak offer

Rangers desperately need a striker and the absence of Alfredo Morelos proved that last season. While Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala showed glimpses, they are some way off the impact Morelos has up top.

Colombia star Morelos is able to dictate two centre-backs – allowing for more space for the Gers midfielders. Not only that, he but he scores a lot more regularly than Roofe or Sakala. Having a proper no.9 is crucial.

Colak is just that. Physical, powerful and good in the air, Colak stands at 6ft 2in and is more than capable of getting on the end of a James Tavernier, or a Borna Barisic cross. He fits the Rangers system.
