Glasgow Rangers had reportedly hoped to bring Aberdeen’s Ryan Jack to Ibrox this summer.
Ryan Jack celebrates after scoring for Aberdeen
A report in the Daily Record has suggested that Rangers’ summer transfer hopes have suffered a setback as Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack is ready to make a summer move to MLS.
The Record reports that the Gers were keen on signing the Dons skipper as his contract at Pittodrie expires at the end of the season. However, it appears that Pedro Caixinha will now have to turn his attention elsewhere.
That is because Jack is ready to make a big-money move to America to join Columbus Crew, according to the Record, despite Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes hoping to persuade him to stay with the Scottish Premiership side.
Signing Jack would have surely been an astute signing for the Light Blues had they been able to pull off a deal. Jack has enjoyed an excellent season in the top flight and looks set to inspire the Dons to a second place finish.

And with Rangers’ midfield arguably lacking that leader, bringing Jack to Ibrox may have been a smart piece of business if the side had been preparing for a summer that will see them work with a restricted budget.
However, judging by the Record’s claims, it appears that Caixinha will have to consider other targets, while Aberdeen will also have to plan for life without their current captain.
