Rangers will be without goalkeeper Wes Foderingham for the Old Firm derby against Celtic this weekend, according to The Scottish Sun.
It has been reported that Rangers’ first-choice goalkeeper Foderingham suffered an injury in training on Friday, and that he will not feature against Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.
According to the report, the injury to the 26-year-old means that Jak Alnwick will make his debut for the Gers against the Bhoys.
The 23-year-old former Newcastle United goalkeeper joined Rangers from Port Vale in the January transfer window.
The former England Under-18 international has yet to make his first-team debut for the Gers, but it seems that his first game for the Ibrox outfit would be against Celtic.
The injury to Foderingham is a blow for Pedro Caixinha’s side, who are in good form at the moment and will be aiming to give the Bhoys a run for their money.
Foderingham is one of the best players in the current Rangers squad, and it will be interesting to see how Alnwick copes against Brendan Rodgers’s side.
