According to The Daily Record, Rangers are being put off by Livingston’s asking price on striker Lyndon Dykes.
It’s claimed that Livi have turned down a £1million bid from Barnsley for Dykes, and have an asking price in mind.
They would want £2million for their star striker, meaning Barnsley would have to double their bid to land the Australian.
Rangers remain interested in Dykes themselves, but Livingston’s valuation is allegedly putting them off at this stage.
That may change if Rangers do end up selling Alfredo Morelos, as the Gers would have money to invest in not one but two strikers.
Jermain Defoe’s injury means Rangers need more than one new striker, and Dykes would fit as a physical target man to offer support from the bench – especially with Florian Kamberi unlikely to return.

Dykes, 24, bagged 12 goals and 10 assists last season, proving himself as a real nuisance to defences in Scotland; Celtic’s Christopher Jullien had problems with him on more than one occasion.
At the current price though, Rangers won’t be signing Dykes, and it’s up to Barnsley to decide whether to meet that £2million asking price.
