Rangers aren’t giving up their bid to bring Connor Goldson to Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record, Rangers are preparing a third bid for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson after Steven Gerrard green-lighted the move.
The Gers have already tied up deals for Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield on free transfers, but they are now determined to spend cash on new signings to boost Gerrard’s options.
A centre back is an absolute must for Rangers this summer, as David Bates is heading to Hamburg and Russell Martin won’t be signing permanently following his loan spell from Norwich City, whilst question marks still hang over Portuguese duo Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso.

With that in mind, Rangers have been pursuing Brighton defender Connor Goldson, but have had two bids rejected for the former Shrewsbury Town talent, despite the fact that he may only be fourth choice for the Seagulls next season.
Now, the Daily Record report that Rangers are returning with another offer, as manager Gerrard has given the green light on a third bid as he is seemingly determined to sign the 25-year-old.
Goldson is stuck behind Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk at the Amex Stadium, whilst the signing of Leon Balogun earlier this week means that he is slipping further down Chris Hughton’s pecking order.

That has given Rangers real hope of sealing a deal, and whilst a bid of around £2million was rejected on Friday, a swift third offer will be made in the hope of finally securing his signature.
It’s claimed that Brighton are willing to do business with Rangers but want a better offer, and Gerrard will hope that it’s a case of third time lucky for his new side.
