Rangers are reportedly still pursuing 2018 deals for Kenny McLean and Jamie Walker.

A general view of Ibrox Stadium is seen ahead of the EURO 2016 Qualifier match between Scotland and Georgia at Ibrox Stadium on October 11, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to The Sunday Post, Rangers are still lining up 2018 moves to sign Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean and Hearts winger Jamie Walker.

The Gers are approaching the January transfer window without a manager in place, as they have still yet to replace manager Pedro Caixinha since his sacking in October.

Caretaker boss Graeme Murty remains in charge, but Director of Football Mark Allen will be in charge of transfers in January, with the former Manchester City man attempting to bring in new additions despite the confusion over the club’s managerial situation.

Now, The Sunday Post report that Allen is lining up a number of players from within Scotland, with two familiar targets – Kenny McLean and Jamie Walker – again wanted ahead of the January transfer window.

Rangers targeted both players over the summer under Caixinha, but with their contracts expiring at the end of the season, the Gers can land both players on pre-contract agreements or in cut-price deals.

Aberdeen midfielder McLean has already shared his intention to leave Pittodrie next summer, and after Rangers pursued his signature over the summer, many expect the 25-year-old to join his boyhood club and make the move to Ibrox.

Hearts winger Walker is in a similar boat, as the wide man – who hit 15 goals last season – was the subject of failed Rangers bids over the summer, but could make his move to Ibrox in a bargain deal.

However, given that relations with Aberdeen are frayed after the pursuit of manager Derek McInnes, and that Rangers left Walker disappointed by not paying the £1million asking price to sign him over the summer, the Gers and Allen may yet have some work to do before landing two long-term targets.
