Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have impressed in charge of Rangers and Derby County – as have Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche.

Current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is a candidate to replace Gareth Southgate as the England coach in the future, according to The Mail.
Former Southampton chief Les Reed was recently named as the Three Lions’ new technical director and he will be the man responsible for finding the country’s new manager when, or if, Southgate’s spell at the helm comes to an end.
Considering that Southgate is under contract until 2022, and remains a national hero after leading England to the semi-finals of the World Cup, it seems unlikely that the former Middlesbrough coach will be going anywhere right now.
But should anything unexpected happen, The Mail reports that Reed could turn to Gerrard. Another former England stalwart, and Gerrard’s former midfield partner, Frank Lampard is also reported to be in the frame.

Gerrard and Lampard both started their managerial careers in 2018 but their debut seasons in the dugout, at Rangers and Derby County respectively, appear in danger of ending on a sour note.
The Mail adds that Reed is also a fan of the highly-rated Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe and Burnley’s gravel-voiced gaffer Sean Dyche.
