Rangers playmaker Josh Windass looks set to stay at Ibrox.

According to the Lancashire Evening Post, Preston North End will abandon their interest in signing Rangers ace Josh Windass after signing Billy Bodin.
The Lilywhites are getting their business done early, having agreed a deal to sign Motherwell striker Louis Moult in December, which became official on January 1st.

On Wednesday night, North End announced another deal, confirming the arrival of winger Billy Bodin from Bristol Rovers on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Bodin, 25, provides a creative boost for manager Alex Neil – and also means that Preston won’t be continuing their pursuit of Josh Windass, according to the Lancashire Evening Post.
As reported by BBC Sport, Preston failed with a £500,000 bid for Windass last Friday, and the Daily Mail claimed just days ago that they would return with an offer of £1million in an attempt to get a deal done.

Now though, with a deal done for Bodin, Preston appear to be backing away from their chase of Windass, meaning Rangers may be able to rest easy.
The Gers were seemingly ready to stand firm anyway, given that they rejected Preston’s bid, but they will now hope that they don’t have to fend off any more interest in Windass this month.
