According to RMC Sport, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could be on his way to Lille after reaching an agreement with the French side.

It’s claimed that Lille have agreed terms with Morelos, and are now moving forward with Rangers in the hope of an agreement over a transfer fee.

Some may wonder whether this is a case for tapping up, but it’s likely that Lille have been negotiating with Morelos’s agent rather than the player himself.

Talks with Rangers are ‘going in the right direction’, and a quick deal should be possible given the groundwork Lille have already laid.

Intriguingly, the report adds that Rangers have ‘already found a replacement’ for Morelos, and this means that the Colombian’s move looks even more likely.

The identity of this striker remains a mystery, but the report confidently states that Morelos has picked a move to Lille.

The 24-year-old smashed 29 goals in all competitions last season, taking his tally for Rangers to 77 goals in 137 games since joining from HJK Helsinki in 2017.

Lille’s star striker Victor Osimhen is off to Napoli, so Morelos appears to be the chosen replacement.

Rangers will hopefully bring in a huge fee for Morelos if they are to sell, with these new reports suggesting that his exit – and the arrival of a replacement – are close.
