The former Rangers midfielder also played alongside Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard.

Rangers showed interest in bringing Charlie Adam back to Ibrox earlier this summer, according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper claims Adam, who left Rangers for Blackpool nine years ago, is surplus to requirements at current employers Stoke City, who recently signed Sam Clucas in his position.
The 32-year-old has not featured in either of the Potters’ Championship fixtures so far and is reportedly allowed to leave the Bet365 Stadium, alongside Gianelli Imbula, Geoff Cameron and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Speaking to BT Sport ahead of Rangers’ Europa League qualifier against FC Shkupi last month, Adam admitted he was open to a return to Ibrox – where his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard is manager.

According to the Telegraph, however, the chances of that happening now appear remote.
Rangers have already added Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria and Lassana Coulibaly to their options since Gerrard’s arrival in May.
