According to Graphic in Ghana, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has received positive reports from Brendan Rodgers and Kolo Toure as a move for Dennis Gyamfi is considered.
It’s claimed that Gerrard has made contact with the former Celtic duo to provide some background on Gyamfi, ahead of possibly bringing him to Ibrox.
Gerrard played under Rodgers at Liverpool, and Toure was one of his teammates at Anfield too. It’s reasonable to assume that he still has a decent relationship with the pair.
Some may wonder why the Leicester boss and one of his coaches would back Gyamfi for a move elsewhere, but he has actually already left the Foxes.
Gyamfi’s contract ended on June 30th, and with Leicester unable to convince him to stay, he is now a free agent – though Rangers would still have to pay compensation to the Foxes should they sign him.
The reports don’t come from a source close to Rangers or Leicester, but Gyamfi is Ghanaian, so there may be some strong sources back home regarding his move.

Rangers have already raided Leicester for left back Calvin Bassey, and could now repeat the trick with Gyamfi after Gerrard received those positive reports.
Rangers have allowed Matt Polster to join New England Revolution, so Gerrard does need another right back.
Teenager Gyamfi can offer competition for James Tavernier whilst possibly being his long-term heir, and with a bargain compensation fee required, he could be a smart signing for the Gers.
