Glasgow Rangers winger Barrie McKay is set to switch Ibrox for Nottingham Forest, according to reports.

According to a report from the Scotsman, Barrie McKay looks set to seal his Rangers exit this week with Mark Warburton currently on the verge of bringing him to Nottingham Forest.

McKay has previously been deemed one of the brighter prospects coming through at Ibrox, but his future at Ibrox has looked to be in a lot more doubt in recent times.

Having turned down a new deal with the Gers back in April, McKay has been told by Pedro Caixinha to train with the under-20s side as his contract enters its final year, according to the Scotsman.

And the Scotsman now adds that Forest – who also enquired about bringing Light Blues full-back James Tavernier to the City Ground – are likely to agree a deal for the winger worth around £750,000.

Though McKay has shown since he reestablished themselves in the Gers side that he is talented, it is perhaps a good piece of business from the Scottish Premiership side if it is evident that he will not be staying at Ibrox beyond the end of his contract.

And Warburton will be hoping that he can help the 22-year-old rediscover the form that made him so important to the Rangers side that he led to promotion and an Old Firm cup victory in 2016.
