According to The Scottish Sun, Hearts are interested in signing Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell – and Neil Lennon is also keen on taking him to Hibernian.
Hearts have seen goalkeeper Neil Alexander leave Tynecastle for Premiership rivals Aberdeen, meaning manager Robbie Neilson must now find another experienced goalkeeper this summer.
Having already signed Faycal Rherras, Robbie Muirhead and Connor Sammon, a goalkeeper will now be Neilson’s priority – and a top target appears to have emerged.
The Scottish Sun report that Hearts are interested in signing Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell, joining Dundee United in the race for signature.
Bell, 29, joined Rangers from Kilmarnock back in 2013 and played 39 games in his first season for the club, but injuries and form mean that he has struggled for first-team football in the last two seasons.
With no appearances last season, Bell has now become something of a misfit at Ibrox, and looks set to leave Rangers this summer as Mark Warburton re-tools his squad.
A former Scotland international, Bell is wanted by Hearts as a replacement for Alexander, but they are also being rivalled by Neil Lennon’s Hibernian.
Hibs had issues in goal last season, and Bell could be seen as the man to be a regular shot-stopper at Easter Road -and whether it’s Dundee United, Hearts or Hibernian, Bell appears to be closing in on a move away from Glasgow.
