According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers could miss out on striker Florian Kamberi after St Gallen opened talks to sign him.
It’s claimed that the Swiss side are in negotiations with Hibernian over a deal, which would be a permanent move.
Rangers have asked to be kept informed of Kamberi’s plans, but a return to Switzerland could now be on the cards for him.
St Gallen are closing in on the Swiss league title and could offer Kamberi Champions League football, which would surely be attractive.
Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Middlesbrough and Norwich City are keen too, but St Gallen have now taken the first steps towards a deal.
The 25-year-old is unlikely to have a future at Hibernian, both because of comments he made about Rangers being his ‘dream’ move and because they’ve just signed striker Kevin Nisbet.

Kamberi showed promise at Rangers, notching one goal and two assists during his loan spell, before it was cut short due to the global pandemic.
Rangers may have Kamberi on their list in case they can’t bring other strikers to the club, but St Gallen may now take the Zurich-born striker back home.
