Ross McCrorie’s transfer is dead for the time being after Rangers rejected an offer from Hibernian for the player, according to The Scottish Sun.
The report claims Rangers ‘immediately’ snubbed Hibs’ approach – said to be £200,000 plus add-ons, including a future sell-on fee – in doing so pricing out the Edinburgh side.
McCrorie was apparently keen on a move away from Ibrox, with his first-team chances looking limited.
But the Rangers academy product now looks set to remain with Steven Gerrard’s side, with whom he is under contract until 2022, barring an improved bid from Hibs or elsewhere.
McCrorie spent last season on loan in English football with Portsmouth, who The Scottish Sun reports had been keen to bring the 22-year-old back to Fratton Park.
Gerrard has yet to name McCrorie in any of his competitive matchday squads this season, including that for tonight’s visit of St Johnstone, with Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack, Joe Aribo and Steven Davis the Rangers manager’s preferred central midfield options.

Rangers fans – how much should the Gers accept for McCrorie, if anything?
