Rangers could sell winger Jordan Jones for £500,000 this summer with Middlesbrough hoping that the lure of home comforts convinces the Irishman to choose the Riverside over Stoke City, QPR and Blackburn Rovers, according to the Northern Echo.
In truth, the former Kilmarnock star’s Ibrox career was over as soon as it got started.
Jones has only played 28 minutes of Scottish Premiership football since being sent off during a 2-0 defeat to Celtic in September 2019.
Manager Steven Gerrard demands such high standards of conduct from his players both on and off the pitch and it was no surprise that the Liverpool legend didn’t look too fondly on an act of sheer stupidity and ill-discipline during the most high-profile fixture in Scotland.
According to the Echo, Jones has most likely played his final game for Rangers already with the Glasgow giants willing to listen to offers of £500,000.
Blackburn, Stoke and a QPR side coached by ex-Gers boss Mark Warburton are interested. But Middlesbrough have a rather useful ace up their sleeve.

After all, Jones has unfinished business in the north east.
Born amid the pylons and pebbles of Redcar beach, the speedy 25-year-old started his career at Boro but departed for Kilmarnock in 2016 after making just one first-team appearance in that iconic red shirt.
The Echo adds that Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock is hoping to tap into Jones’ sentimentality by offering him the chance to return home after a year in no man’s land north of the border.
A winger with plenty of pace and fine dribbling skills, Jones would be tasked with replacing the instrumental Patrick Roberts at the Riverside.
