Goss has impressed since being brought to Ibrox by Rangers boss Graeme Murty in January.
On-loan Rangers midfielder Sean Goss is said to be mulling over an approach from a manager who was recently linked with a move to Ibrox.
However, Rangers fans will be relieved to learn that it is not from a rival suitor but the Northern Ireland national team.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, Michael O’Neill – who the Scotish Sun reported was being monitored by Rangers after Pedro Caixinha’s sacking last October – is hoping that his powers of persuasion will convince Goss to commit to the Green and White Army.
It is claimed that Goss – who was born in Germany and moved to England as an eight-year-old – qualifies for Northern Ireland through the grandparent rule, and could make his debut as early as this month’s international break.
Unwanted attention?
Queens Park Rangers managed Ian Holloway has already stated his intention to welcome Goss back into the fold at the end of his loan spell and international recognition could alert others to the 22-year-old’s talents.
However, Rangers could be disappointed either way, with the Belfast Telegraph quoting a QPR insider as saying: “[Goss] is back to his best at Rangers and I fully expect to see him back at QPR when the loan deal finishes at the end of the season.”
