Rangers may miss out on bringing James McArthur to Ibrox.

According to The Mirror, Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur aims to sign a new contract with the club in the coming weeks.
A 2014 signing from Wigan Athletic, McArthur has now racked up more than 125 appearances for Palace, scoring 15 goals in the progress.
The 30-year-old Scot has been an underrated cog in the Palace midfield, but his contract expires this summer, and some have believed that he will be leaving for free.
However, The Mirror report that McArthur is now homing in on a new contract, and could put pen-to-paper on a new deal in the coming weeks.

That would be a boost for Palace boss Roy Hodgson, but a blow for Rangers given that the Daily Mail reported last week that the Gers are hoping to land McArthur.
A boyhood Rangers fan, McArthur could have been handed a dream move to Ibrox, though it was stated that the midfielder was more likely to stay in England.
That leaves Rangers going back to the drawing board in their search of new signings, barring a late change of heart from the Palace midfielder as he closes in on a Selhurst Park stay.
