According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha wants a double swoop on Motherwell by signing striker Louis Moult as well as defender Ben Heneghan.

The Gers boss will be desperate for reinforcements this summer as he looks to mould his own squad at Ibrox, with centre back and centre forward two key areas to strengthen.

Defenders Clint Hill and Philippe Senderos look set to leave the club when their contracts expire this summer, whilst there are questions over the future of attacker Martyn Waghorn, and summer signing Joe Garner has yet to live up to his price tag.

Now, The Scottish Sun report that Rangers manager Caixinha is keen to raid Motherwell for two key players, with defender Ben Heneghan and striker Louis Moult believed to be two top targets.

Centre back Heneghan, 23, joined Motherwell from Chester last summer, and he has been a key player at Fir Park ever since, making 40 appearances in all competitions this season.

The former Everton and Stoke youngster is allegedly one of Caixinha’s prime targets to improve a Rangers defence that has leaked 16 goals in six games against Old Firm rivals Celtic this season.

Additionally, it’s stated that 24-year-old striker Moult – also formerly of Stoke – has hit an impressive 35 goals in 73 games for Motherwell since signing from non-league Wrexham in the summer of 2015, including 17 goals in all competitions this season.

Moult’s impressive goalscoring record with Motherwell was bound to attract interest, and with Rangers seeking goals, he has emerged as a top target – but the Gers would have to pay a premium to land both players this summer.
