Jon Flangan of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers could be in hot water after his incident involving Celtic’s Scott Brown on Sunday.
The Scottish Sun has reported that Rangers defender Jon Flanagan isn’t out of the woods for his apparent elbow on Celtic’s Scott Brown in Sunday’s clash at Ibrox.
Flanagan was only booked by referee Kevin Clancy for his off-the-ball incident involving the Celtic captain during Rangers’ 2-0 Old Firm win this past weekend.
Clancy was criticised by Hoops boss Neil Lennon for failing to dismiss the Gers star.
But according to The Scottish Sun, Flanagan could yet be charged if SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte deems it necessary.
Whyte, the report adds, has been studying the footage since it happened.
Brown,a £4.4 million signing in 2007 [The Guardian], revealed afterwards that Clancy had told him that it was only a yellow card because he didn’t believe Flanagan struck him in the face.
Rangers have only recently had Alfredo Morelos available again after he was given a four-match ban for a similar incident on the Celtic skipper during a fiery contest at Parkhead in late March.
Ryan Kent was also slapped with a retrospective two-match suspension for a separate offence against the 33-year-old midfielder that day.
