Rangers-linked Vukovic only joined Maritimo in the summer.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have claimed that Rangers are ‘interested’ in signing Maritimo midfielder Josip Vukovic, who has impressed since moving to the top-tier Portuguese side.
Rangers made a number of signings in the January transfer window, bringing in central midfielders Steven Davis and Glen Kamara as well as Jermain Defoe, Matt Polster and Andy Firth.
But it appears that Gerrard’s scouting network have not stopped since the close of the transfer window and are already planning ahead to the summer, with Vukovic the latest name to prop up on their radar.
The 26-year-old is a holding midfielder, and is renowned for his intricate array of passing at the base of a midfield – as well his ability to read the game and make interceptions.
Not particularly quick or boasting much flair, the Croatia Under-19 international does the simple things well and acts a blanket for the back four as an anchor – winning the ball back and giving it to his teammates.
Vukovic has a contract at Maritimo until the summer of 2021, and it remains to be seen if the Portuguese side – who sit in 13th place and just two points above the drop – would be willing to sell the Croatian.
Rangers have plenty of players who can play in the holding-midfield role in the form of Ryan Jack, Ross McCrorie and Andy Halliday, but Gerrard could be tempted to bring in a new anchor man in the form of Vukovic.
