According to The Glasgow Times, Rangers have started talks to sign Bournemouth duo Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.
It’s claimed that Steven Gerrard has expressed his interest in signing the duo, and initial talks have been held with Bournemouth about a double deal.
The problem for Rangers is that Bournemouth have already accepted a bid for Simpson from Cardiff City, meaning they will have to be quick.
Charlton have also been interested in signing Ofoborh, but Lee Bowyer seems pessimistic about his chances of signing the midfielder.
Both players are out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Rangers could strike pre-contract agreements to sign them for free.
Simpson, 24, has been a long-term target for Gerrard, as he was wanted at Rangers back in the summer of 2018.

With George Edmundson’s future unclear, Simpson would fit the bill as a cheap, left-footed centre back to come in and bring balance to the Rangers defence.
21-year-old midfielder Ofoborh starred on loan at Wycombe Wanderers last season, but has found first-team chances hard to come by this term.
A Nigerian youth international, Ofoborh is diminutive but a fine holding midfielder or box-to-box player, and the duo could represent bargain additions for the Gers.
