Glasgow Rangers are reportedly optimistic that they may not be too far away from bringing the striker to Ibrox.

The Light Blues have seen two bids for the striker rejected by Hearts. The Record reports that they initially offered £200,000 for the 30-year-old, while their swap bid involving Lee Wallace was also knocked back as the Jambos held out for £750,000.
It remains to be seen if Rangers plan to meet that asking price, but the Record suggests that the Gers are convinced that they will be able to get a deal done for Lafferty in the next 48 hours.
It will certainly be beneficial for Rangers to get a deal for Lafferty completed. The Gers do not have a lot of depth up front, with Umar Sadiq currently the only player providing Alfredo Morelos with support.

Lafferty was superb for Hearts last season, and has made a bright start to this campaign having scored the winning goal in their clash with Celtic at the weekend.
Finally completing a deal for the Northern Ireland international could perhaps be the perfect boost for Rangers heading into the second-leg of their Europa League clash with Maribor on Thursday. The Gers take a 3-1 lead into the clash in Slovenia.
