According to The Express, Rangers are hoping to sign Hearts star Jamie Walker this summer, whilst they also retain an interest in team-mate Callum Paterson.

After finishing third in the Scottish Premiership, Rangers are in need of major reinforcements this summer, with manager Pedro Caixinha no doubt keen to build his own squad.

Whilst many expect Caixinha to bring in players from Portugal, Mexico or Qatar – countries he has managed in previously – there is also a focus on Scottish players too.

Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack is poised to join the club (Sunday Post), and The Express now report that Rangers are also interested in snapping up Hearts winger Jamie Walker this summer.

Walker, 23, was born in Edinburgh and came up through the ranks with Hearts having joined the club way back in 2003, and he is now a key player at Tynecastle.

The former Scotland Under-21 ace hit 15 goals this season in a stellar campaign, and also notched five league assists as he continues to catch the eye.

Now, Rangers allegedly want to lure Walker to Ibrox, and with Caixinha also keen on signing team-mate Callum Paterson, it’s suggested that Rangers would have to pay in excess of £1million to land both players.

It’s unclear just how much Caixinha will be given to spend, but if Rangers want to invest in young, talented Scottish players, then they won’t get much better than Paterson and Walker, who would both be huge additions.
