Rangers are reportedly hoping to appoint Derek McInnes this week.

According to The Sunday Post, Rangers are hoping to unveil Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes as their new manager this week in an £800,000 deal.
The Gers sacked manager Pedro Caixinha last month after a 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock, with the Ibrox club bringing an end to his seven-month stint in charge.
Rangers have so far bounced back well under caretaker manager Graeme Murty, beating Hearts 3-1 and Partick Thistle 3-0, but the Gers may look to bring in a new manager instead of handing Murty the job permanently.

One of the main names in the frame ever since Caixinha’s exit has been Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, and Rangers may now be closing in on a swoop for the Scot.
The Sunday Post report that Rangers are planning to move for McInnes and hope to have him appointed this week, with the finances in place to fund an £800,000 deal.
That would include McInnes’ assistant Tony Docherty also heading to Ibrox alongside him, with Rangers hoping to use the international break to land both men.

McInnes, 46, has impressed since becoming Aberdeen boss back in April 2013, winning more than 58% of his games as Dons manager whilst also winning the Scottish League Cup in 2014.
After three successive years in second place, McInnes may now look to move on to Rangers, where his target will once again be to chase down Celtic at the top of the table.
