According to the Glasgow Times, Rangers haven’t been able to make any developments in talks with Aberdeen about a deal for Scott Wright.
Rumours broke last week of Rangers’ interest in signing Wright, with the Gers looking to take advantage of him being in the final six months of his deal.
There was a further report from the Glasgow Times last week which suggested that Rangers were not only exploring a pre-contract deal, but also a possible immediate move this month.
That would have involved Greg Stewart heading to Aberdeen in exchange, in what seems like a pretty perfect move as far as Rangers are concerned.
However, it’s now claimed there have been no developments in Rangers’ attempts to secure Wright this month, with no progress made.
That means Rangers may have to settle for a pre-contract agreement, which would see him arrive at Ibrox in the summer on a free transfer.

Wright, 23, provides pace and skill out wide, as well as the potential to develop and he also counts as a homegrown player for Europe.
As depth behind Ryan Kent, Wright seems ideal for the Gers – but unless Rangers can progress talks, they’re going to have to wait for him.
