Rangers have handed Jamie Murphy his dream move to Ibrox.

According to The Scottish Sun, Bristol City were poised to sign winger Jamie Murphy before Rangers swooped in and hijacked their move.
Murphy, 28, had been a key player for Brighton following a 2015 move from Sheffield United, but had started just one Premier League game this season having slipped down the pecking order.

The Scot has now joined Rangers on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move to Ibrox in the summer – but reports suggest that could have been so different.
The Scottish Sun report that Bristol City were set to sign Murphy in a deal worth £1.8million, but that all changed when Rangers entered the running for his signature.
Murphy grew up supporting Rangers, and jumped at the chance to join his boyhood club, with Brighton allowing him to make the move despite them ultimately missing out on cash.

The wide man could have joined Lee Johnson’s promotion-chasing Robins and attempted to return to the Premier League, but instead he has headed to Scotland to live out his dream of playing for Rangers.
Gers fans should be happy to see that kind of commitment from Murphy, and will ultimately be excited to see the former Motherwell man in action when he makes his Rangers debut.
