According to Ghana Soccernet, Rangers forward Joe Dodoo is poised to leave Ibrox on loan, and will join up with his former Gers boss Mark Warburton at Nottingham Forest.

Rangers have snapped up 11 new signings this summer as Pedro Caixinha has over seen a huge overhaul of his squad, with the likes of Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans and Alfredo Morelos all arriving.

The Caixinha revolution has also seen a number of players leave the club in recent weeks, including Rob Kiernan, Michael O’Halloran, Harry Forrester and Martyn Waghorn.

As the transfer window enters its final hours, Rangers appear to be on the verge of allowing another forward to leave the club, with Joe Dodoo set for a move away from Ibrox.

Ghana Soccernet report that Dodoo is set to pen a loan deal with Championship side Nottingham Forest, where he will reunite with Mark Warburton – the manager who brought him to Rangers last summer.

Warburton pounced to sign the Ghanaian forward from Leicester City when his contract at the King Power Stadium expired last summer, but he hasn’t been able to nail down a first-team spot under Caixinha.

After allowing Barrie McKay to leave Ibrox for Forest earlier this summer, Rangers appear poised to let another attacking player head to the City Ground, but this time in a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old forward may still have a future with Rangers, but his lack of football with Caixinha and Warburton’s faith in him may suggest that a permanent move to Forest could be a possibility.

UPDATE: Dodoo has tonight moved on to join Charlton Athletic of League One, rather than joining Forest. It’s unclear whether Forest were beaten to Dodoo or whether Warburton was never really interested in the youngster, but the forward has indeed left Ibrox before the transfer deadline.
