The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, brought the striker to Ibrox last summer.

The Rangers flop, Umar Sadiq, could be on the move again this summer.
Sadiq had his Rangers loan spell terminated six months early last December, and left Ibrox with only four appearances and not a single goal or assist to his name.
The AS Roma striker subsequently signed for Perugia, again on a temporary basis. But despite a somewhat more respectable return of three goals and as many assists in 18 outings, Sadiq does not appear to have convinced his employers he is worthy of retaining.
According to Di Marzio, Roma are already working on the exits of certain players, including Sadiq, despite being currently without a manager. And it is claimed the 22-year-old is getting closer to a move to Troyes, of the French second tier, after a positive meeting between the parties on Tuesday.
Sadiq’s replacement at Rangers, Jermain Defoe, took just 12 minutes to better his predecessor’s Ibrox goal tally, and has made 15 direct contributions in 20 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Rangers could be in the market for further attacking additions in the summer transfer window, with Kyle Lafferty and Alfredo Morelos linked with moves away.
