Glasgow Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Sheyi Ojo as Steven Gerrard looks to boost his ranks at Ibrox.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Sheyi Ojo is about to sign a new contract at Liverpool before being loaned out again for next season, with Rangers interested in bringing the 21-year-old to Ibrox.
The Gers have wasted no time to get stuck into the summer window, with a number of players already through the door. The signings of Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie have been confirmed, and it appears that Steven Gerrard is keen to quickly get more players in.
The Telegraph reports that Reds winger Ojo is about to sign a new deal at Anfield after spending the season on loan with Stade de Reims. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given that he struggled to capture the imagination in France, he is set to be given the green light to leave on loan again this summer.
The report suggests that Rangers are one of the teams that want the winger, while the Daily Star has gone one step further and suggested that Ojo is ready to head to Ibrox ‘immediately’ after he puts pen to paper on a five-year deal on Merseyside.

It may surprise some Reds fans if Ojo is indeed handed such a lengthy contract. He clearly has potential, but surely has a lot to prove if he hopes to move himself onto Jurgen Klopp’s first-team radar, especially when you consider how much attacking quality that his parent club have.
But from Rangers’ perspective, his move could prove to be a fantastic piece of business should he make a similar impact to the one that Liverpool teammate Ryan Kent has made during his year at Ibrox.
Kent has been unplayable at times this past season and caused all sorts of problems in several of the Old Firm games. If Ojo can reach similar heights, then Rangers may have stumbled upon another inspired loan from Gerrard’s old club.
