Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is reportedly looking to sign new defenders in the summer transfer window. He wants to form a fresh new backbone in defence.
This means that a number of defenders in the current squad could be sold in order to accommodate new faces.
According to reports from the Daily Record, Rangers duo – Clint Hill and Rob Kiernan – could be heading out this summer.
Hill joined Rangers in 2016 on a one-year deal. The 38-year-old defender has made 27 appearances in all competitions, and has scored four goals.

He said earlier this week that if he is offered a new deal, he would be delighted to sign it.
However, the former QPR defender is yet to be offered a new deal, and in all likelihood he won’t be offered a contract extension at the Ibrox.
Kiernan is another defender who is likely to exit as well. The 26-year-old Irish defender has a contract till 2018, but the Record suggests that he could be allowed to leave the club.
Rangers are reportedly closing in on Bruno Alves and Rashid Sumaila as Caixinha strives to sculpt a new look defence.
