Mark Warburton is reportedly set to sign his former Rangers defender Lee Wallace for Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers.
Lee Wallace is set to bring an end to his long spell at Rangers on Friday by signing for Mark Warburton’s QPR within the next 24 hours, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
The 31-year-old left-back is one of the most influential Rangers players of recent years, having played over 250 games for the Glasgow giants since he arrived at Ibrox from Hearts almost a decade ago.
But with his contract expiring in the summer and with Steven Gerrard freezing him out of the first-team picture, Wallace’s time at Rangers is coming to an end.
And The Sun reports that the 10-time Scotland international could be unveiled as a Queens Park Rangers player on Friday.
A move to Loftus Road will see Wallace reunite with Warburton, his former coach at Ibrox. Interestingly, Warburton even made the experienced defender his captain after taking over in the summer of 2015.
Wallace is not the only left-back to be linked with a move away this summer however with Croatian international Borna Barisic (below) facing an uncertain future. Myles Beerman, who rose through the ranks at Rangers, has already been released.
