Rangers’ move to sign Philippe Senderos is hanging in the balance, according to reports.

According to The Express, Rangers’ deal for central defender Philippe Senderos is hanging in the balance as he weighs up his options.
Senderos, 31, is a free agent having left Grasshopper Zurich in his native Switzerland earlier this summer, and his experience has made him appealing proposition.
Having turned out for the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan, Everton, Aston Villa and Valencia, Senderos is used to playing for big clubs, whilst he has also played in three World Cups for the Switzerland national team.

The Gers took Senderos on trial earlier this month as manager Mark Warburton looks to add another veteran presence to his defence, and many expected the Swiss international to sign over the weekend after a deal for Joleon Lescott collapsed
The Express report that Senderos has agreed personal terms in principle and even completed a medical with Rangers – and yet, he still hasn’t been confirmed as a Rangers player.

It’s claimed that Senderos is instead waiting to see what other clubs have to offer him, with two other teams interested in his services – German side 1860 Munich and and Spanish outfit Alcorcon.
Given Senderos’ free agent status, the Swiss international can wait until after the deadline passes, but his stalling leaves Rangers in a difficult position as the transfer window comes to a close later today.

Warburton may have other targets in mind, but once the deadline shuts he will be limited to free agents to boost his defence until the transfer window re-opens in January – meaning he will be hoping for an answer one way or the other from Senderos today.
The Gers are still favourites for Senderos’ signature, but the delay in making a decision means Rangers could be forced to look elsewhere on the transfer window’s final day.
